Solo Paddlers In Action




Colorful and fast, Tom Eick turns in the fastest solo time of the day.


Jim Hennessee pushes the boat that has won him marathons on the Rappahannock as well as the 2000 Outstanding Paddler Award.



Kirk Havens, the fastest solo canoe in the race, finishes strong.



Linda Crowe, a veteran paddler, comfortably wins the OC1 Female class.


Determination brings in Joanne White paddling an old borrowed Old Town Penobscott.


Ralph Hambric, a veteran of many races, turns in another great performance.



Dave (The Sheik) Perault shows he's not just a rodeo man.



Sue Saliba wins one for the ACC, finishing first in her class by a safe margin..



Up close and personal, Nelson Co. Director of Tourism, Frankee Love, always gets the most out of her sit-on-top.
Frankee's 2nd place finish here is a warmup for her June 2-3 race on the Rappahannock.

Carol Bauer makes a race of it with a strong stroke.



Wes Meares solos a 17 foot Wenonah.



Phil Welker is an imposing figure with his black carbon fiber paddle and snow-white Wenonah canoe.

Phil finished only 42 seconds behind 1st place Kirk Havens in the OC1 Male Advanced class.

Dave Thomas looks relaxed after finishing 1st in the OC1 Male Citizen class.



After finishing his second run Conny Roussos decides that sometimes once IS enough.
